THE DIVISION AND ARRANGEMENT OF THE ANGELS

The angels were created and endowed with graces and gifts, coming into existence as most beautiful and perfect creatures. The creation of the angelic nature is more excellent and more like unto the spiritual being of the Divinity. The angels were created in the empyrean heavens and in the state of grace by which they might be first to merit the reward of glory. They are created first of all for the glory of God, to assist before his divine Majesty and to know and love Him, so secondarily they are ordained to assist, glorify and honour, reverence and serve the deified humanity of the Jesus Christ, recognizing Him as Head, and honouring Him also in his Mother, the most holy Mary, Queen of these same angels. Commission was given to these angels, “to bear them up in their hands” in all their ways (Ps. 90, 12).

The angelic host were arranged and divided into different nine choirs and three hierarchies. The first three choirs; Seraphim, cherubim and thrones, belong to the first hierarchy. The second three choirs; Dominion, virtues and powers, belong to the second hierarchy. While the third three choirs; principalities, archangels and angels belong to the third hierarchy. Lucifer was the most beautiful and powerful among them all and was made the head of the angelic nature. For although they were in the midst of glory, the Divinity itself was not to be made manifest to them face to face and unveiled, until they should have merited such a favour by obeying the divine will.

They were created on the first day of the week corresponding to our Sunday. Lucifer belongs to the first choir and the first hierarchy which is  seraphim, and Beelzebub was his assistant from the same choir and that is why he is still assisting him (Lucifer) in hell till today. Akabor belonged to the choir of Thrones and while Veroba belonged to the choir of powers.  Allida , though fallen, belonged to the choir of archangel, Saint Michael, Saint Gabriel, and Saint Raphael belong to the eight of the nine choirs. Everyone  angel  has assignment attached to him. Though many of them are fallen they still maintain their position even in hell today. They do the opposite of what the good angels are doing. God gave them law and command, to acknowledge Him as their Maker and supreme Lord, and to fulfil the end for which they had been created. This was the divine will. But many did not obey Him.
